It was a resounding success for Stockport Ladybrook Speakers Club at the area contest in November.

Six members of our group took part in the contest held at the Northenden Golf Club and were supported by a number of other members.

We are delighted to share the news that Penny came first in the speech contest closely followed by Gay in second place. Christine was awarded first place in the evaluation contest and Helen took the honour of first place in the topics contest.

We are so very proud of all our contestants and it’s fair to say they all delivered fantastic speeches on the day and the trophies were very well deserved. Thank you also to all the ladies and gusts who went along to support, it means a lot to our speakers to have such a supportive group of friends cheering them on!
