At Stockport Ladybrook Speakers Club, we believe that constructive feedback and practice are key to becoming a confident communicator. One of the most rewarding ways our members sharpen their skills is through friendly competitions – and our recent Annual Evaluation Contest was a brilliant example.

Seven members bravely took part in the contest at our latest meeting, each offering thoughtful and insightful evaluations of a speech delivered by guest speaker Andy Bunch. The contest encouraged members to not only listen attentively, but to respond with clarity, confidence, and structure – all vital skills in public speaking.

A huge thank you to our guest judges, David Bolt from Liverpool Speakers Club and Mary Christie from Manchester Peterloo, whose time and expertise helped make the contest both professional and encouraging. And, of course, a big thank you to Andy Bunch for delivering a thought-provoking target speech for our contestants to evaluate.
