Stockport Ladybrook Speakers Club kicked off 2026 with a fantastic first meeting, welcoming 22 enthusiastic members and one guest — a great sign for the year ahead.

The evening featured a full and varied programme, including prepared speeches, thoughtful evaluations, and an educational talk. After a much-enjoyed break, Bev took the chair for an “easy”  Topics session that certainly kept everyone on their toes and brought plenty of energy and laughter to the room.

A special mention goes to new member Freya, who delivered her very first Topics contribution and was deservedly awarded the Inspiration Award — truly a star in the making.

The meeting was rounded off by Susanne, who delivered a comprehensive and engaging General Evaluation, bringing the evening to a strong and motivating close.

Well done to everyone involved — an excellent start to the new year, and we’re excited to see what 2026 has in store.
